Leonor Silva Jewellery

With a History degree and a master´s degree in Archeology, Leonor Silva´s passion for jewellery drifts from the times where in excavations she was dazzled by artifacts. “Since the beginning of times adornments are worn by mankind. It is transversal to our existence”, says the jeweller.

In January 2017, after the course of Author Design in Lisbon Jewellery Center, her brand Leonor Silva Jewellery, was created. With a strong artistic language, she uses humor and irony to interpret what is going on around her.

The result are jewels that, apart from being beautiful and sexy, are distinguished from all the others by the strength of their messages, “Creating jewelry with critical, surprising, and simultaneously usable everyday messages, enhancing the role of women in society, is an emotionally challenging and very rewarding recipe. That is the only way I can fulfill my role”.

In July 2017 Leonor Silva Jewellery was selected to be part of Klimt02, the largest contemporary jewellery platform. In this way, she starts to represent Portugal alongside the most renowned conceptual jewellery artists in the world.

In September 2017 Leonor Silva Jewellery was the Winner of the Best Of Portojóia Award – Designer Revelation 2017, marking a very unique position in the Author Jewellery market.

In September 2018 she won the Collective International Meeting Award, where her work was recognized among the eight best of the 300 represented.

In December 2018 she was awarded by the Korea Jewelry Design Association with the Excellence Designer Award.

In June 2019 participated, as MAAT Museum’s Resident Jeweler, in the creation of an exclusive jewel inspired on museum architecture. “Where The World Touches You” is the ring which represents MAAT building concepted by Amanda Levete.

In September 2019 she won the Collective International Meeting – PortoJoia Award, where her work was recognized among the eight best of the 540 represented.

In October 2019, it was the highlight of the “Milan Jewelery Week” and the cover of the Artistar event that decorated in Milan on the same date.

In December 2019, she was awarded at the 19th International Jewelry Design Contest in South Korea by the Korea Jewelry Design Association with the “Designer of Excellence” award.

In 2020 was  selected from 458 artists from around the world to be in Shanghai at the “Growth and Evolution International Jewelery Exhibition”, a contemporary Jewelery event that featured 150 artists to share their vision of the place of jewelry in the body and in the world.

In December 2020, she was awarded at the 20th International Jewelry Design Contest in South Korea by the Korea Jewelry Design Association with the “Designer of Excellence” award.

In December 2021, she was awarded at the 21th International Jewelry Design Contest in South Korea by the Korea Jewelry Design Association with the honored 4th position out of 146 awardees.

In December 2022 the jury of the 22nd International Jewelry Design Contest in South Korea by the Korea Jewelry Design Association awarded Leonor Silva an Honorable Mention for the piece “Miss Wow”.

In December 2022, the jury of the 2022 Mercúrio Prize, which rewards the best in commerce and services, nominated Leonor Silva Jewelery for the Mercúrio Prize in the Non-Food Commerce category.
